Medically required services associated with physician and diagnostic services and hospital in-and-out patient care.

Maternity care provided by a physician or a midwife
Diagnostic services, including:
  • X-rays and laboratory services provided at approved diagnostic facilities, when ordered by a registered physician, midwife, podiatrist, dental surgeon or oral surgeon
Medically required services associated with physician and diagnostic services and hospital in-and-out patient care, such as:

  • Surgery/anaesthesia
  • X-ray and laboratory services in approved facilities when ordered by a physician
Medically required services associated with physician and diagnostic services and hospital in-and-out patient care
Medically required services associated with physician and diagnostic services and hospital in-and-out patient care, such as:

  • Surgical, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Anaesthesia
  • Pre- and post-operative care
  • Complete maternity care
  • Radiology interpretive services
Medically required services associated with physician and diagnostic services and hospital in-and-out patient care, such as:

  • Diagnosis and treatment of illness and injury
  • Surgery, including anaesthetic services and surgical assistance where necessary
  • Obstetrical care, including prenatal and postnatal care
  • Eye examinations, treatment and operations provided by an ophthalmologist
Medically required hospital, medical, dental and optometric services with some restrictions
Medically required services associated with physician and diagnostic services and hospital in-and-out patient care
Medically required services associated with physician and diagnostic services and hospital in-and-out patient care
Medically required services associated with physician and diagnostic services and hospital in-and-out patient care, such as:

  • Medically necessary surgical services, including the services of anaesthetists and surgical assistants where necessary
  • Obstetrical services, including pre-natal and post-natal care, new-born care or any complications of pregnancy such as miscarriage or caesarean section
  • Certain medically required oral surgery procedures performed by an oral surgeon when performed in a hospital
  • Sterilization procedures, both female and male
  • Treatment of fractures and dislocations
  • Certain insured specialist services, when properly referred by an attending physician
Medically required services associated with physician and diagnostic services and hospital in-and-out patient care, such as:

  • Examinations;
  • Consultations
  • Psychiatric treatment
  • Diagnostic services and therapeutic procedures
  • Surgery; radiology; anesthesia
  • Most laboratory services
  • Certain highly specialized examinations such as ultrasounds, CAT scans and magnetic resonance imaging, when performed in hospital centres

Medically required services associated with physician and diagnostic services and hospital in-and-out patient care, such as:

  • Physician services in their office, clinic, at the hospital, scene of accident or in the patient's home
  • Care and treatment by a physician before, during and after an operation including anesthesia
  • Physicians care during pregnancy
  • Certain dental-surgical procedures that have to be performed in an approved hospital
